Glorious Misfits- A clown workshop about the art of being truly you
There's a part of you that's been waiting.
The part that used to laugh without checking who was watching.
The part that knew how to be silly before life got serious.
It's still in there. It hasn't gone anywhere.
What we offer for that part of you is a clown workshop. And we know — the word makes serious people walk away. Birthday parties. Painted smiles. Things meant for children. Most adults hear "clown" and stop reading.
So before anything else: stay with us for thirty more seconds.
Here's what we actually do.
We give grown-ups a few days to do nothing useful. In a country and a working life that asks you to be productive, on, edited, presentable, dependable — we sit some of you in a room and ask you to play. Not "fun activities". Not "team-building". Real play. The kind your body remembers from before life turned into a list of deliverables.
Play is not the opposite of work. Play is what makes you good at your work. (For the part of you that needs the rational permission: it rebuilds presence, softens the grip of the fear of failure, restores creativity at the source, and is the rest your nervous system actually needs.)
Then the clown arrives.
A red nose — the smallest mask in the world — that unmasks. Underneath the steady professional, the good son or daughter, the dependable colleague, the one who keeps things together — there's still someone in there who is curious, alive, occasionally ridiculous, messy and entirely you.
That's who we're here to meet.
You don't need experience. You don't need to want to perform. You don't need to be funny. You just need to be willing give yourself some playful rest.
What Happens in the Workshop:
-
We start with simple warm-ups to get comfortable with each other and the space.
-
We play fun, energizing games that help us notice and enjoy the small, funny moments in everyday life.
-
We try improvisation and storytelling activities where participants respond to situations in the moment—no scripts, no “right” answers.
-
We use movement, expression, and laughter to release tension and create genuine connections between team members.
-
we go for walks and spend some time in nature.
If you've been working hard for a long time, this might be the most useful thing you do all year.

About Jamming Tree, Manali
The Jamming Tree is a community space in the mountains where people come to make art, slow down, and learn. My dream is to reimagine Manali as a "learning town" countering the rapid tourism that accelerates climate change and erodes local culture.
Themes we are working on:
Art & Performance | Sustainable Travel | Livelihoods | Mental Health | Education
I first came to Nasogi as a traveler, but something about this village and its pine forests wouldn't let me go. The more time I spent here, the more I noticed two things:
-
The Cost of Rapid Tourism: Millions visit Manali, but few experience its living culture. The cycle of taking photos, leaving waste, and moving on means our rivers, forests, and mountain air bear the cost.
-
The Need for Slowing Down: City life is relentless. There is a deep need for spaces dedicated to creative expression and working with your hands.
Our Model
The Jamming Tree was built without external funding to bridge this gap. We provide a comfortable place to stay, and the revenue from your visit directly funds community work and ecological preservation. If you are choosing to spend time with us, thank you for helping keep this dream alive.
